The book describes the first discoveries of the following phenomena:- gyrotropy of uniaxial non-enantiomorphous crystals;- weak gyrotropy of 'non-gyrotropic crystals;- gyrotropy induced in non-gyrotropic crystals by applied external fields: - stress-induced gyrotropy (piezogyration),- electrogyration (induced by electric field).These effects present only in anisotropic crystal directions and can be observed at 'isotropic point' - wavelength of optical isotropy resulting from crossing of dispersion curves of crystal. It was shown that the traditionally used 'classical' methods of Paleo(Geo)ThermoBarometry are incorrect. The known PaleoPiezometrical methods have some troubles too. We propose alternative original piezooptical methods for Paleo Thermo-, Baro-, Piezo- metry based on the discovered by me (1990) phenomenon 'piezooptical crystals memory', which are practically free of the all described troubles.
