"Ich glaub an die Wiener Dreieinigkeit | An das 'Weib', an den 'Wein', den 'Gesang' | Ich glaub' an mein Wien, an mein herrliches Wien | Mein ganzes Leben lang". - Geboren als Sohn eines Wiener Gemeinderates, besuchte Franz Allmeder… die Kunstgewerbeschule und danach die Akademie der bildenden Künste. "Daneben widmete er sich auch der Musik und studierte an einem Wiener Konservatorium. Bereits während dieser Zeit komponierte und textete er seine ersten Wienerlieder und wienerischen Tanzstücke, einer Sparte, der er Zeit seines Lebens treu blieb. In der Folge etablierte sich Allmeder vor allem als Textautor und Schriftsteller, schrieb zahlreiche Liedertexte für die Volkssängerin Hansi Führer sowie für alle führenden Komponisten des Genres, u. a. für Edmund Eysler, Ludwig Gruber, Rudolf Kronegger, Roman Domanig-Roll, Heinrich Strecker" (Österreichisches Musiklexikon, s. v., Abbreviaturen aufgelöst). 1921 war Allmeder zusammen mit Ludwig Gruber Mitbegründer der Gesellschaft zur Hebung und Förderung der Wiener Volkskunst.
