Fin Serck-Hanssen photographed the first generation of Norwegian punk: Hærverk, Oslo Børs, Kjøtt, The Aller Værste and many others. He takes pictures of all kinds of artists, both in England and Norway. Everything from eccentrics like Einstürzende Neubaten, The Cramps and the trash trance Jayne / Wayne County, to post-punk bands like Bauhaus, Cabaret Voltaire and A Certain Ratio, to local bands like Holy Toy, Fra Lippi Lippo and Garden of Delight, to more famous names like Elvis Costello , Human League, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Jim Kerr from Simple Minds, Midge Watches from Ultravox and later greats like REM Among the finest is one of the then totally unknown band Depeche Mode from the same year as the band made their LP debut. The book shows Fin Serck-Hanssen's rock photo for the first time since they were published in Nye Takter and many photographs that have never been shown before. Both as documentation from a formative period and as an artistic expression, In Between Pictures is an extraordinary book.
