The book, which was developed during the COVID-19 lockdown period, addresses a gap in the market for a comprehensive text on basic entomology for undergraduate students. While there are numerous books available on the subject, many are either too detailed or too brief and focus primarily on research rather than providing a well-rounded introduction. This book fulfills the need for a text that covers the essential aspects of entomology in a balanced and up-to-date manner, making it an ideal resource for undergraduate students. The book provides a comprehensive overview of entomology, which is the biological study of insects. As the largest class of living organisms, insects play a vital role in many ecosystems, and understanding their morphology, anatomy, physiology, and classification is crucial for practical applications in the field. The book includes a range of illustrations and photographs to help students better understand the material. In terms of content, the book covers the morphology, anatomy, physiology, and systematics of the insect class Insecta. The book is designed to meet the needs of undergraduate students studying entomology, fulfilling the requirements set forth by their syllabus. Due to the limited availability of suitable texts, this book is a valuable resource for students seeking a comprehensive introduction to the subject. The book is written in American English and adheres to its spelling, specific terms and phrases.

Neuware -An easily accessible pyridine-linked anthracene-based new amphiphilic fluorescent molecule is reported as the single probe for systematic and rapid sensing of multiple metal ions at ppb level. Among several metal ions, the quenching in fluorescence intensity of the fluorophore was remarkable for Pd2+, Fe3+, Sn2+, Bi3+ and Al3+ metal ions in the 1,4-dioxane medium where Al3+ was straightaway identified with its 50% quenching. The addition of Fe3+solution to the probe produced a distinct blue shift in the absorption spectrum under UV-Visible spectroscopy. Further, the probe could discriminate rest of the three metal ions Pd2+, Sn2+ and Bi3+ by using surfactant led assemblies like micelles and niosomes. In anionic micelles (SDS), the probe could selectively detect Bi3+ ion. The differentiation between Pd2+ and Sn2+ was achieved by recording their emission spectra in neutral Tween 20 micelles and span-80 niosomes, where the probe showed dramatic quenching only with Pd2+. Finally, the sensor was successfully utilized to capture the image of cervical cancer (HeLa) cells facilitating intracellular detection of Pd2+.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 52 pp. Englisch.
