Prima edizione
Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. First edition of this translation. Wrappers, small 8vo. Very good copy, paper quality uneven, most signatures are lightly browned, but pp. 17-32 and some pages at the end are bright white and not at all oxidized. Front cover has a diagonal crease in the upper right corner. "Ausgabe des Jüdischen Künstler-Theaters, Berlin" stated on copyright page. Precedes by one year the publication of a translation by Rosa Nossig from the firm of Benjamin Harz, also claiming to be the sole authorized one. It would appear that there was a free-for-all in getting a German translation out and high public interest in the play. Arno Nadel was a distinguished participant in the cultural and musical life of the Jewish community of Berlin. He was deported to Auschwitz in 1943 and died there.
