Ein antikes Conversations-Stück mit Chören. Dies nennt der Rezensent in "Blätter für literarische Unterhaltung" (Nr. 111/1839) eine "prächtige Eingebung", in der "köstliche Glossen gegen die Formen der modernen Lebensart. (in) Chöre(n) voll kräftigen Witzes. in Gestalt antiker Nachahmung und Sophokleischer Tragödie" zum Lachen reizen. Apollonius August von Maltitz (1795-1870) führte viele Jahre als Diplomat ein unstetes Wanderleben, ehe er 1841 nach Weimar versetzt wurde.
