Whitman Publishing Company, 1928 copyright, printing not stated but after 1935; Whitman # 2167. 216 pages, cover art by The Kerrs. 12mo (5" x 7.5") Tom Swift and His Talking Pictures (Tom Swift #31) by Howard R. Garis, writing as Victor Appleton. Rear dust jacket panel lists Tom Swift books 29 - 38, through Tom Swift and His Planet Stone, published in 1935; so the book was printed after 1935.

One of the later titles (#33) in the original Tom Swift series, which was comprised of 40 volumes featuring the young inventor written by writers in the Stratemeyer Syndicate's stable of authors under the pseudonym Victor Appleton II (this one actually by Howard Garis). 214 pp. Originally published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1930, this is one of the slightly later Whitman reprints (#2168), with 10 titles on front flap & back cover of DJ & different DJ cover art (by "The Kerrs'). Hardcover12mo has light green cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG: quite clean & bright, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages heavily tanned, but unmarked save for former owner's name & address in pencil to ffep (we never erase these long-ago readers!). Mild-moderate rubbing to extremities, slightly bumped & frayed corners, pushing to heel of spine. The unclipped DJ is VG- (minus): bright & colorful, with mild-moderate chipping to both ends of spine & all corners, rubbing to extremities; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free!
