The archive of the Photo Service of the President of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia contains nearly 300,000 photographs documenting Josip Broz Tito's public and private activities from 1948 until his death in 1980. It is housed today in the Museum of Yugoslav History (MYH) in Belgrade. In 2012, the MYH curatorial staff initiated Travelling Communique, a title taken from the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade in September 1961. It represents an ongoing collective project that opened this summer to the public with an exhibition, a summer school, and a film programme. The working journal is dedicated to the pioneering spirit of the Non-Aligned Movement and to Tito's photo archive. Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. This book is an extension of the interactive installation Phenotypes/Limited Forms. The installation encourages visitors to pick their favorite subjects out of a total of several hundreds of displayed photographs, rearrange them, name their sequences, and print them in the form of a fanfold. The publication analyzes the 30 000 sequences selected by the public. A detailed demonstration ofthe applied algorithms helps us to understand the connection between the photographs, the number of times they were chosen by an individual visitor, and how the visitors named their personal selection of images. The book traces the creative processes and the interaction of the visitors with the material of the installation as a work of art highly dependent on the involvement of the audience. Essays by curators and art historians discuss the subject on a theoretical level while examining the aspects of participation and emancipation as well as the question of the autonomy of images.

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. The publication is an extension of the interactive exhibition Phenotype / Limited Forms. The exhibition encourages visitors to actively engage with Armin Linkes' work and to select, rearrange, titlelate and express their favorites from hundreds of photographs. The publication analyses the roughly 30,000 image sequences selected by the public. The interest here is the connection between the Photographs, how often these are selected as individual and how the newly arranged sequences are titled. A detailed demonstration of the applied algorithms helps to understand these relationships. The essays by curators and art scholars discuss the topic on a theoretical level and deal with the aspects of participation and emancipation as well as the question of the autonomy of images. 2700 illustrations Chronicle and analysis of an interactive exhibition Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
