The VII ESW annual national research conference on "Climate Change and Global Health Management" organized by ESW Society Khajuraho during 01 & 02 February, 2020 at UNESCO Heritage site Khajuraho, India. Large-scale and human environmental hazards to global health include climate change, stratospheric ozone depletion, changes in ecosystems due to loss of biodiversity, changes in hydrological systems and the supplies of freshwater, land degradation, urbanization, and stresses on food-producing systems. Policy choices are guided by several principles. These include considerations of equity, efficiency and political feasibility. To make informed decisions about climate change and global health, policy-makers will need timely and useful information about the possible consequences of climate change. Once policy-makers have received input from the impact assessment community, they must integrate this information into a broader policy portfolio. Climate change, however, should not be considered in isolation from other global environmental stresses. Climate change should therefore be viewed as part of the larger challenge of sustainable development. Some have argued that the existence of scientific uncertainties precludes policy makers from taking action today in anticipation of climate change. The outcomes of these decisions may be affected by climate change. This book is highly useful for researchers, teachers, students, policy maker and environmentalist engage in climate change and global health management.

Genetics may be defined as the study of genes at all levels, including the ways in which they act in the cell and the ways in which they are transmitted from parents to offspring. Modern genetics focuses on the chemical substance that genes are made of, called deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, and the ways in which it affects the chemical reactions that constitute the living processes within the cell. Gene action depends on interaction with the environment. DNA sequences in the nuclear diploid genome usually exist as two allelic copies (on paternal and maternal homologous chromosomes). In addition to this degree of repetition, about 40% of the human nuclear genome in both haploid and diploid cells is composed of sets of closely related nonallelic DNA sequences (DNA sequence families or repetitive DNA). Within the considerable variety of different repetitive DNA sequences are DNA sequence families whose individual members include functional genes (multigene families), and also many examples of nongenic repetitive DNA sequence families. This book is useful to researchers, molecular biologists, biotechnologists, plant breeders and teachers engaged in advanced genetics.

Vertebrates and Evolution is written bearing in mind that the modern trends of studies on the chordates have changed drastically from classical study of one or two commonly available representative types to rather detailed comparative account of organs and organ systems present in all available extant forms. Vertebrates have evolved more complex digestive systems to adapt to their dietary needs. Some animals have a single stomach, while others have multi-chambered stomachs. Birds have developed a digestive system adapted to eating un-masticated (un-chewed) food. Vertebrates are a well-known group of animals that includes mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. The defining characteristic of vertebrates is their backbone, an anatomical feature that first appeared in the fossil record about 500 million years ago during the Ordovician period. The evolution of modern cells is arguably the most challenging and important problem the field of Biology has ever faced. In Darwin's day the problem could hardly be imagined. For much of the 20th century it was intractable. Evolutionary biology is the subfield of biology that studies the evolutionary processes that produced the diversity of life on Earth, starting from a single common ancestor. These processes include natural selection, common descent, and speciation. The book provides an introduction to structure-function concept at the level of organs and organ systems, which is fundamental to the understanding of synthesis of comparative anatomy.

Developmental biology is the science of explaining how a variety of interacting processes generate an organism's heterogeneous shapes, size, and structural features that arise on the trajectory from embryo to adult, or more generally throughout a life cycle. It represents an exemplary area of contemporary experimental biology that focuses on phenomena that have puzzled natural philosophers and scientists for more than two millennia. DNA is segregated away from the cytoplasm within the nucleus, although, as we have seen, the isolation of the nucleus from the cytoplasm is by no means complete since there are a number of pores which are present in the nuclear membrane and which lead into the cytoplasm as such. But the significant thing about DNA is that practically all of it in the cell is localized in the nucleus and it is the DNA that has the major genetic function in the cell. Fertilisation (also known as conception, fecundation and syngamy), is the fusion of gametes to produce a new organism. In animals, the process involves the fusion of an ovum with a sperm, which eventually leads to the development of an embryo. Depending on the animal species, the process can occur within the body of the female in internal fertilisation, or outside in the case of external fertilisation. An outstanding feature of Cell and Developmental Biology is a wealth of exceptionally clear and vivid illustrations that complement the text, resulting in a succinct yet fully up-to-date treatment of this rapidly changing field. Contents 1. Introduction to Cell Biology 2. Structure and Functions of Nucleus Cell 3. Spematogenesis; Oogenesis; Fertilization; Parthenogenesis and Regeneration 4. Development of Frog 5. Development of Chick.

Natural resources may exist as a separate entity such as freshwater, and air as well as a living organism such as a fish or it may exist in an alternate form which must be processed to obtain the resource such as ores, oil, and most forms of energy. Natural resources management deals with managing the way in which people and natural landscapes interact. It brings together land use planning, water management, biodiversity conservation, and the future sustainability of industries like agriculture, mining tourism, fisheries, and forestry. Wildlife conservation is in the practice of protecting endangered animal and plant species and their habitats. Among the goals of wildlife conservation are to ensure that nature will be around for future generations to enjoy and to recognize the importance of wildlife and wilderness lands to humans. This book will be really useful for environmentalists, researchers and wildlife conservators in taking some positive steps towards improving our environment and protects our resources for future generation.

Index. The interest of man in nature goes back to his own origin and history. From stone stage to modern atomic age, there has been a drastic change in the demands of man from the nature ranging from food and shelter to timber, fuel, medicines, pulp and a variety of other products. A sudden explosion in human population and multifarious need of man has put the existence of natural resources to a stake. Majority of original natural resources have been reducing to secondary resources with low productivity hence the extent of wild area is also decreased significantly. Earth is the only place in the universe known to sustain life. Humanity's relationship with the biosphere will continue to deteriorate until a new international economic order is achieved, a new environmental ethic adopted, human populations stabilize, and sustainable modes of development become the rule rather than the exception. Among the prerequisites for sustainable development is the conservation of living resources. the management of human use of the biosphere so that it may yield the greatest sustainable benefit to present generations while maintaining its potential to meet the needs and aspirations of future generations. Thus conservation is positive, embracing preservation, maintenance, sustainable utilization, restoration, and enhancement of the natural environment. Living resource conservation is specifically concerned with plants, animals and microorganisms, and with those non-living elements of the environment on which they depend. Living resources have two important properties, the combination of which distinguishes them from non-living resources: they are renewable if conserved; and they are destructible if not. (jacket).
