Édition dont le tirage a été limité à 15 exemplaires numérotés et signés. Notre exemplaire est justifié "EA" (épreuve d'artiste - le "15" barré au crayon), et comprend les paires A, B, C et D. Tous les dyptiques sont signés, au dos, par P. B.-M.-G. et Madeleine Millot-Durrenberger. Les huit tirages argentiques (30,5 cm x 22 cm) représentent des vieux miroirs : "Ayant abordé, dans les années 80 la difficile technique du Daguerréotype, et bien trop préoccupé alors à obtenir une image sur le miroir d?un plaque d?argent polie, il me fallut bien quatre ou cinq années avant que je m?aperçoive, stupéfait, que cette petite plaque sur laquelle je travaillais tous les jours, me renvoyait? le reflet de mon visage ! Curieux effet de l?attention vers une chose qui rend aveugle pour une autre. Les illusionnistes savent cela. Je pense que ce phénomène est à l?origine de la création de ces ? Gémelles ?, quinze années plus tard.J?avais choisi de photographier des vieux miroirs avec une très grosse chambre noire (100 x 80 cm.) pour enregistrer directement leur image, à l?échelle 1, sur du papier photographique placé dans le fond de la chambre. Une fois révélée, l?image ? mère ?, directe, unique, négative, servait ensuite, par contact, à obtenir son double positif de façon à créer une paire symétrique, ensemble qui constitue l??uvre proprement dite. Cette dualité Yin -Yang est un écho à la formation même de l?image photographique et à l?inversion de sens que réalise également le miroir. La troublante équivalence photographique de l?aspect du reflet du miroir, vu soit en négatif, soit en positif, nous empêche de savoir si par exemple telle zone sombre signifie absence de lumière en positif ou, au contraire, lumière en négatif.Durant la prise de vue, la grande difficulté technique fut d?obtenir l?image de ces miroirs sans faire apparaître l?incontournable reflet de l?imposante optique qui enregistrait, de face, la surface réfléchissante?
