Battersby (1961-1962), compiled the Recent taxa, whereas Swinton (1961), Edwards and Curds (1962) did both the Recent and fossil taxa (1963), with Bunney replacing Edwards for the 1964 volume. 1963 volume with tear in front wrapper; otherwise a very good, clean set.

Up to volume 89 the Reptilia and Amphibia were combined into a single volume; from volume 90 onwards both had a separate volume (sections XVIA and XVIB). Smith was responsible for the first three years, the last together with Swinton who did the fossils of all the other volumes. The recent herpetology was done by Battersby until the split, at which point Grandison took over the Recent Amphibia. All wrappers with the small stamp of Dr. Mario Guerra. A good, complete run in an attractive binding.
