Knopf-Borzoi first edition (per publisher's statement upon copyright page). i-xxxviii, 1-420, i-xiii, [1] pages. Hardcover: H 21.75cm x L 14.75cm. Tan dust jacket with some toning and light soiling, nicks at edges with a few patches of light surface abrasion. Blue cloth with vibrant gilt stamping to spine and front board. Muted yellowish-brown top edge; some foxing to fore-edge and bottom edge; foxing/toning to endpapers; past owner's ink signature at top of front free endpaper. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is retains some crispness. A very good copy in a very good- dust jacket.

Unclipped dust jacket is very good; with 2 and 1/2 inches of intermittent black scuffing to front panel. Top of page block is age toned with lighter speckles. Some age toning to endpapers.
