Two vintage oversize, borderless, double weight photographs from the 1941 musical. Signed, struck, and mounted by MGM photographer Bert Lynch. Loosely based on Ferenc Molnar's 1924 play Testor, which had previously been adapted to film in 1931 as The Guardsman, about husband who tests his wife's fidelity by disguising himself as… another man, which she sees through immediately, and tortures him accordingly. The feature film debut of opera star Rise Stevens. Nominated for three Academy Awards. Photographs 12.75 x 9.75 and 9.75 x 12.75 inches, mounted to 16 x 20 inches. Photographs Near Fine with some light edgewear. Boards very good plus with some edgewear, toning at edge and tide mark most evident on versos.

Two vintage double weight photographs, one showing of MGM still photographer Bert Lynch and his wife Bonnie, with "Columbia Pictures Photo by Joe Walters" stamp on the verso (Walters was a Paramount still photographer), and one portrait photograph of Bonnie Lynch, both lovingly inscribed in manuscript ink by Bonnie to Bert, circ…a 1945. In the photograph of Bert and Bonnie, Bert is in uniform, having recently returned home from service in the Navy during World War II, inscribed on lower right in manuscript ink, by Bonnie: "Darlin' / We can always keep it this way / Bonnie + Bert together + happy / I love you / Bonnie" In the striking head shot of Bonnie, Bonnie inscribed on the upper left in manuscript ink, "Dearest Little Fellah / It will always be as it is now - you + I together / wanting (underlined) to be / Love you darlin' / Bonnie" Bert Lynch was a prolific MGM still photographer for four decades, beginning in the mid 1920s through the early 1960s. Photos 8 x 9.5 inches and 9.5 x 7.5 inches respectively. Both Near Fine. Signed.
