8vo, pp viii,[4],611,[1], a few small woodcuts in text, contemporary unlettered sheep, spine gilt ruled, rubbed and worn at corners, spine ends chipped, joints cracked and a little wormed but holding quite sound, clean and tight throughout, SECOND EDITION 'corrected', though apparently a reprint of the 1766 first printing. Both…editions of this dauntingly comprehensive collection of self-help arithmetical knowledge for practical mercantile use are scarce, this second recorded ESTC 4 copies UK [one private collection] and one USA. The authors - presumably brothers, ran schools in Gosborton and latterly Donnington, with both book and authors commemorated in a plaque in Donington Church.
