Aggiungi al carrelloVictor Blue from North Carolina lived 1865 to 1928. He served in the US Navy for 32 years, retiring in 1919 as a Rear Admiral. In his career he commanded the USS Alvarado and the USS Texas. He served active duty in the Spanish-American War and World War One. He was awarded the Navy Distinguished Service Medal and the Specially M…eritorious Service Medal. The articles are typed, in blue ink, on rectos only, on 8x11 inch paper (one article is on 9 x13 inch paper). Some have pencil corrections, presumably by Blue. The articles are headed "By Rear Admiral Victor Blue, U.S.N. (Retired)" so likely written in the years 1920 to his death in 1928. Titles of the papers: A Naval Officer's Recollections- Some African Cannibals (5p.); Side-Lights on Naval Diplomacy (16p), Admiral Kempff at Taku (14p.); Unnoticed Strokes of Sailor Diplomacy (5p); The King of Dahomey (5p); Reconnaisance Behind the Enemy's Lines (15p). Hi-quality content - fascinating reading. All pages are slightly toned but only lightly worn and fully legible. Paperclips on each article are lightly rusted. An assortment of about 25 loose typed pages - most appear to be just extra copies of the listed articles - are included in the lot as well.
