An Exhibition featuring rugs of the Ersari Tribes of Russian Turkestan and Afghanistan". This was the second exhibition the Society prepared on Ersari weavings, the first was in 1969. 55 examples in the exhibition, all illustrated with black & white photographs. All with lengthy entries. Map. Bibliography. 11" high X 8 1/2" wide, unpaginated (about 100 pages).

Although the title mentions rugs, there are many examples of camel bags and trappings, saddle bags (for horses/donkeys), tent pole covers, and other decorative weavings used in everyday life. Even in b/w, this is a lovely catalogue and an excellent resource for anyone who collects or is otherwise interested in these kinds of textiles. G+ (spine beginning to come unglued, few small notations throughout text, ex-lib. stamp and sticker on back cover, all pages intact).
