Hardcover, light gray paper covered boards show scuffing and soiling, spine is darkened, and there is a small split to the paper at the top left of the spine. Edges and corners show bumps/wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or handwriting, no library markings. The front pastedown contains an interesting bookmark: the bookplate is tipped in on the right side and it is a memorial label for "Harold L. Peterson 1922-1978". According to his Wikipedia page, Harold Leslie Peterson was a historian widely considered in his day to be a foremost expert on firearms and related subjects in American history. There is nothing under the bookmark.

Dust jacket is itendical to cover illustration; dj fragile; torn in several places along edges, flap creases and spine. Faded and soiled areas. Rare vintage book of WW1 era.
