An American Landscape est le dernier projet de l artiste. Spectateur assidu du célèbre film First Blood le 1er opus de la série des Rambo Alain Bublex y voit la mise en scène de deux héros qui symbolisent l Amérique : Rambo lui-même et le paysage en arrière-plan. Afin de vérifier cette intuition, il décide de redessiner tous les plans du film en les vidant de l action qui s y déroule, pour ne conserver que les paysages, les mouvements de caméra, le montage. On découvre un film d animation composé de travelings poétiques, mélancoliques et pictorialistes à l esthétique définitivement bublexienne, rappelant de manière surprenante l histoire de la peinture américaine. "" //////////////////////////// Since his first solo exhibition in 1992, Alain Bublex has been constantly reinventing the idea of travel, placing photography at the heart of his visual practice and combining it with drawing. But more than displacement and movement, it is the landscape itself that appears to be his main subject. The United States held a special place in this development. Setting out in search of Glooscap (an imaginary city), he criss-crossed the country from east to west, north to south, returning convinced that landscapes have played a primordial role in the constitution of the nation. An American Landscape is the artist's latest project. An avid viewer of the famous film First Blood - the 1st opus in the Rambo series - Alain Bublex sees in it two heroes who symbolize America: Rambo himself and the landscape in the background. To verify this intuition, he decided to redraw all the shots in the film, stripping them of the action that takes place in them, and leaving only the landscapes, camera movements and editing.
