Condizione: Muy bueno. : Este libro reúne tres textos esenciales para el desarrollo de la psicopatología en el siglo XX. En ellos se discute la posibilidad de identificar diversas enfermedades mentales a partir de sus síntomas. Hoche, en «El significado de los complejos sintomáticos en psiquiatría» (1912) critica esa posibilidad, personalizada en la doctrina de Emil Kräpelin. Éste, en un texto que se ha convertido en clásico, «Las manifestaciones de la locura» (1920), revisa, desarrolla y matiza sus concepciones anteriores sobre el tema. Oswald Bumke, por último, en «La disolución de la demencia precoz» (1924), prosigue el debate y cuestiona la tesis nuclear del pensamiento kräpeliniano, al rechazar el concepto de esquizofrenia como entidad unitaria. El libro se completa con el artículo «Kräpelin y la psiquiatría clínica actual» (1946), en el que el psiquiatra español José Miguel Sacristán analiza las cuestiones planteadas por los tres textos anteriores y sus consecuencias para el pensamiento psicopatológico de la época.
