Paperback. Condizione: Good. Growing up during the late 19th century in Sandwich, Massachusetts, Thornton W. Burgess often wandered through the countryside, where he learned to recognize and appreciate the birds and animal life of the area. Later on, as an adult, he told stories to his young son about these same creatures. His first book, Old Mother West Wind, published in 1910, contained a collection of these stories. Three years later it was followed by Mother West Wind's Neighbors -- 15 delightful fables from the world of the Green Forest and Green Meadows. In this classic of children's literature, readers find out why Johnny Chuck doesn't like Blacky the Crow and why Ol' Mistah Buzzard has a bald head. They'll learn what is in Mrs. Possum's big pocket and how Hooty the Owl gets even. They'll even find out who stole Mrs. Grouse's eggs, discover why Sammy Jay cries "Thief," and uncover other secrets of Mother West Wind's neighbors. Brimming with gentle humor and real lessons about nature, these enchanting tales will captivate today's youngsters as much as they charmed audiences generations ago.…

Paperback. Condizione: Good. The Adventures Of Jerry Muskrat This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentionalunintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. Paperback. Condizione: Very Good. One of the most beloved characters in children's literature, Peter Cottontail is up to his long-whiskered nose in rib-tickling escapades in this delightful classic. With gentle charm and humor, famed storyteller Thornton W. Burgess draws young readers into the timeless world of the Green Forest, the Smiling Pool and the Purple Mountains. Warmth and whimsy are the order of the day as Peter discovers the folly of changing his name, outwits the ever-hungry Reddy Fox, manages a number of hare's-breadth escapes and finally makes an ill-advised decision to hibernate-as Johnny Chuck and other woodland creatures do. The silliness of trying to do what nature never intended is one of the gentle morals of these adventures that combine the fun of a good story with little lessons about wildlife, the environment and being true to one's self. Newly reset in large easy-to-read type, this unabridged childhood classic will delight young readers today just as it did their parents and grandparents.…

Paperback. Condizione: Good. This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPY READING. Harrison Cady (illustratore).…

Paperback. Condizione: Very Good. This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPY READING. Harrison Cady (illustratore). …
