The place seems to be Erindale (a.k.a. Springfield-on-Credit), Ontario. The author of this book seems to be the proprietor of both businesses. Alan Crossley did the b/w sketches that decorate the inter-pages. Volume is 205 pages long. Some of the recipes include : Hockey Night Meat Balls, Oxbow Quiche, Lambs Liver with Thyme, Champagne dressing and INDIAN SPRUCE BEER. Many offerings have a `British under-taste'. Cond : Outside cards are buff, plastic binding coil is black, as is lettering. Pages are of cream-coloured light card stock. Hand lettered and `homey' appearance. Colours bright, binding sound. Pages 81 -to 115 have been sli. `kitchen damp' and are wavy. No names, marks, tears, minimal soiling. Almost giftable !! Quote (p. 129, an inter-page) : " ` I have taken, in the River Credit, in spring, within 20 yards of our hall door, as fine fish as I ever met in Ireland .' - Thos. W. Magrath, April 1832.
