Covers exhibit moderate wear and fraying on corners. Light wear and bumping on bottom edges. Heavy fraying and bumping on spine ends. Light wear to hinges. Moderate shelf wear and soiling on covers and spine. Inside front and back cover hinges are cracked. Inside front cover hinge is barely attached. Text and the many b&w illustrations are yellowed due to age. Otherwise clean and unmarked. Light yellowing and soiling to page ends. Previous owners name and date on publishers' preface page. Frontispiece of Butler is in very good condition. "A review of his legal, political, and military career.
