Notice to the Second Edition, Preface by the editors to the First Edition, Notes, Appendix, Index; xvi, 681 pages. This old tome is of mixed condition: The original maroon cloth has rubbing on the boards' surfaces and at the extremities; the spine is bumped and has several chips, despite having been shellacked at some point; most of its gilt lettering is still legible. Also, there is about a one-inch split starting at the top of the rear joint. All that said, the binding remains strong, with the interior creamy-bright and clean with an occasional pale freckles on a few pages. There are just two 'bites' out of the top corners of two leaves---preface and contents---no text affected. The end-papers are a rich brown with cracking just starting at the hinges.
