Binding is firm. Uncommon early book of poetry by the New York-born author Carl Carmer who is best known for his 1934 landmark non-fiction work "Stars Fell on Alabama." The book was acquired from a Jasper, Alabama Bankhead family estate and the inscribee is undoubtedly Lycurgus Breckinridge Musgrove (1859-1931) who was a Jasper coal mine owner and served on the Board of Trustees for the University of Alabama for forty years.
