SECOND item is a 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" index like typed note dated 6/7/84 in envelope. Lynn states that the reader's opinion of our Civil War Diplomacy makes him feel good & for him to send his copy for inscription. THIRD item is a typed letter signed by Lynn Case dated 6/20/84 enclosed in envelope. Lynn expresses how honored he was to sign the book & was surprised to find that it was a first edition. Lynn tells of his most significant chapter & explains why & then suggests that the reader see his conclusions the chapter on the Trent Affair, FOURTH item is a typed letter signed by Lynn Case dated 6/29/84 enclosed in envelope. The letter explains why Lynn was interested in French history. He talks about his trip to France and of his discovery of confidential reports by the district attornies from all over France to Emperor Napoleon III on French opinion on all subjects including our Civil War. FIFTH item is a Univ. of Georgia envelope with a handwritten name above of W.F. Spencer and the address to handwritten. An interesting group of items! Signed.
