Und doch ist es kein typisches Hochhaus, vielmehr ein komplex gestaffelter Baukörper, der in vielfacher Weise auf sein städtisches Umfeld reagiert. Die… Komplexität des Ortes und dessen Funktion im Stadtraum spiegelt sich auch im Grundriss wieder. Der Gebäudesockel ist mit seiner Hotel-, Gastronomie und Ladennutzung der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich, sodass sich der Stadtraum ins Gebäude fortsetzt. Anders als die ursprüngliche Planung, die ein gläsernes Hochhaus vorsah, wurde das Zoofenster mit Naturstein verkleidet. Als Fortsetzung des sprichwörtlichen "Steinernen Berlins" schließt diese Gestaltung an die markanten Neubauten der letzten Jahre an, die mittels Naturstein kräftige Konturen und skulpturale Oberflächen geschaffen und damit insbesondere der Stadtmitte ein eigenes unverwechselbares Gepräge gegeben haben. Die Glasfassade am Hochhauskopf des Zoofensters schließlich verleiht dem Gebäude, auch und gerade bei Nacht, seine Fernwirkung.
