En este caso, el volumen recoge los sistemas filosóficos que se relacionan con lo que habitualmente denominamos cultura y sociedad. Se abordan los conceptos ligados al arte, a la moralidad, a la convivencia social o a las manifestaciones creativas. Se trata de una elección atrevida, porque desafía dos tópicos arraigados. El primero es el que citábamos más arriba, o sea, el escepticismo hacia cualquier forma filosófica procedente del África negra. . . El segundo estereotipo al que se enfrentan los textos que siguen sería el temático o instrumental.
