442 pages. Hardcover: H 18.75cm x L 13.25cm. No dust jacket. Spine leather perished with underlying paper backstrip exposed lengthwise; brown leather overlaps remain to both boards which have mottled, soiled, and stained pallid olive cloth. Text block edges toned. Foxing to endpapers as well as several initial and late leaves; purple ink bookseller stamp for R.B. Henderson & Co., New Albany, Mississippi on front free endpaper; some occasional light soiling and scattered stains/foxing to interior pages which, overall, remain fairly clean. Binding is firm. Poor cosmetics per the aforementioned missing spine leather but still an uncommon contemporary school textbook which, it should be noted for clarity's sake, was also issued in an edition "With Answers" and a separate "Teacher's Manual" as well as classroom texts intended for earlier grades distinguished by their subtitles "First Book," "Elementary Book," "Intermediate Book," and even a "Practical Book.".
