Olive cloth. Past owner's three-line ink inscription dated November 1955 on half-title page but with name obscured under swath of black marker which has carried through to verso and title/copyright leaf; ink notation on front free endpaper recto. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good- copy in a good+ dust jacket. Coon earned a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1928 and stayed with the university as a lecturer and professor until 1948 thereafter assuming a position as Professor of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. CARAVAN offers a description of the Islamic way of life in the Middle East from Morocco to Pakistan.
