L'ouvrage se présente comme un guide à l'usage des curés, leur conseilla…nt de renoncer à l'usage des termes "Magiciens" ou "Sorcières" et de réguler la vie sociale de leurs paroissiens, notamment en ce qui concerne la fréquentation des cabarets et l'organisation des fêtes.
