This is a humorous story explaining how a teacher became missing from school, illustrated with delightful cartoon drawings that can be colored by children and adults. This story came about when Miss Gonzalez, one of the teachers in Barbora's kindergarten class in Mountainaire, was absent. The children were very concerned about her. They began the morning as usual with a Pledge of Allegiance, and then sat in a sharing circle. One of the children asked, Where is Miss Gonzales? Is she okay? Barbora said would you like to hear a story about Miss Gonzales? They said yes. Without previous preparation Barbora began the story and she has said it told itself. After she finished there were comments of disbelief and laughter, but the children liked it and were satisfied. Barbora credits local legends of aliens landing near some of the lonely outlying areas of town as her inspiration. Later one of the students asked if the story were true and Barbora replied what do you think? The student thought for a moment and said no and Barbora replied I think you're right. The original books were printed as a graduation gift for the class. Roxanne was the model for the drawing of the little girl with the big smile and missing tooth.
