Though undated, the heavy vinyl tells us it's from the 1950s, as does the "Long Play" (not "monaural" or "mono") designation. Other than that, what is this thing? It does indeed appear the Dizzy Gillespie Orch. backs Miss Vaughan on one and only one cut. ("East of the Sun.") Other than that, we have three cuts from Cozy Cole, two from Slam Stewart, and two more from what may be the same outfit, "Huckle Bug" (?) from the "Eddie Davis Combo," and "Minton's Madhouse," from the "'Lockjaw' Davis Orchestra." "Are You Coming Home John" is credited to Sobby Lewis to the label, "Sabbie Lewis" to the jacket, both of which may be typos. But hey, the thing is near-mint in near-mint. Reduced from $20.
