Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1st Edition. 222 pp. No date (ostensibly, 1961?): no edition, printing or number line cited: presumed First American Edition, simultaneously with, or after, Routledge and Kegan Paul edition in UK. Takes the form of belletristic exchanges between the authors, regarding the literary personae cited and their works. Contents divided into 5 sections: [1] "on JAMES JOYCE"; [2] "on D.H. LAWRENCE"; [3] "on HENRY JAMES"; [4] "on ROBERT GRAVES and T.S. ELIOT"; [5] "on T.S. ELIOT and EZRA POUND". Medium teal boards with black cloth spine and brilliant gilt lettering and Publisher logo gilt-stamped on lower left front cover corner on black cloth; bevel fore-edge; small bumps to top corners (still essentially square); three liquid "cloud"-shaped stains on lower rear cover lower edge (1" circular; 1 3/8" x1/4"; 5/8" x 1/8": teal color is diminished, but still teal, with NO warping, wrinkling or rubbing away, still smooth); top edges above top of text block are lightly sunned (still teal); sprinkling of very faint, tiny, foxing speckles on top edge; faint offsetting on inside covers. Glossy white dustwrapper not price-clipped ($4.95) with title in large black lettering across top, middle, bottom front cover, with light green, smaller, thinner lettering for subtitle above, below and in between black title lettering. Much of cover white is faintly foxed in splotches; spine sunned, so author names and publisher name are barely readable, title lettering in black is sharp and distinct, eminently readable; 1 1/4" tear down top right front cover edge and small chips or micro-tears at cover and spine corners (NOW backed with Archival tape); soiled down cover and spine edges, with single light blue "cloud" stain on rear cover (corresponding to stain cited above on board rear cover, but no other inside dw stains corresponding to the other two stains on lower edge rear cover); small wear at cover and spine corners and across lower spine. Binding of sewn signatures still strong; corners essentially sharp, no rubbing wear to cover and spine corners, or across foot of spine: dw did its job: Now in Brodart mylar which pardons sins graciously and provides additional protection. NO previous owner names; Clean text. The way to read a Literary Classic more than 60 years-old.
