Prima edizione
Wraps. 176 p. Includes illustrations. Many illustrations in color In June 1998, Brill launched Brill's Content, a media watchdog publication that ceased publication in fall 2001. The magazine caused a stir in its very first issue with Brill's article titled "Pressgate" charging that independent counsel Ken Starr and his office had been the source of much of the information for reporters about the Lewinsky scandal and that Starr may have violated federal law or ethical and prosecutorial guidelines. It was the ink-on-paper representation of Mr. Brill's audacious desire to win influence and profits by playing Savonarola to powerful institutions. This time, the formula that Mr. Brill rode to success two decades ago when he founded The American Lawyer did not work. Even after gaining intense publicity for the premiere edition with his dissection of the Lewinsky scandal and Washington reporters' dependence on the special prosecutor, Kenneth Starr, he was never able to translate the magazine's prominence into a readership even close to its original goal of as many as 600, 000. Its most recent circulation, as reported to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, was 325, 000. Very good. No dust jacket. Mailing label residue on front cover. Presumed first edition/first printing thus. Stephanopoulos cover.
