Published on the occasion of the exhibition "Samuel Mockbee and the Rural Studio: Community Architecture" organized by David Moos at the Birmingham Museum of Art and opening at the Birmingham Museum of Art from October 5, 2003 to January 4, 2004 and touring to the Washington, D.C. National Building Museum from May 22 to September 6, 2004 and closing at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art from September 25, 2004 to January 2, 2005.
