Texts discuss an upcoming International Air Post Exhibition scheduled for London, plus a detailed listing of recent dealer catalogs by country, plus Davis' own menu of for-sale stuff. No.8 encloses, laid in, a letterhead order form on cheap pink paper, which paper has toned the interior pages. The two numbers are for sale only as a pair.

Its debut release, preceding the book by a full year, it is one of the best photographic records of The American Teen-ager. "This Age sparkles with the promise of what's to come, hides its insecurities under the cover of bravado, and trembles with excitement about the here and now. From 1959 to 1964 (arguably the Adolescence of America itself), Joseph Sterling photographed teenagers, hanging out after school, at drive-ins, in fast cars. As Sterling himself defined it, 'the world of the adolescent is totally interlaced within itself and incapable of freeing itself. The "Age of Adolescence" shows American kids to be both playful and serious, friendly and menacing, cheerful and pensive. Their remarkable simplicity and effortless grace have re-appeared in so many images of young people ever since. Still, few photographs have the timeless appeal as Joseph Sterling's work. Closely identified with the Institute of Design (ID), Sterling has done work characterized by the technical perfection and formal experimentation identified with the Bauhaus-inspired Institute. Here, he lets go, and the result is simply wonderful. Sadly, the book itself was also the last published by Sterling, who died unexpectedly on November 12, 2010. An absolute "must-have" title for Joseph Sterling collectors. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. Folded for mailing, else fine. The English publisher and editor Sir Rupert Charles Hart-Davis (1907-1999) founded the publishing company Rupert Hart-Davis Limited in 1946. Praised for the quality of its publications, the firm eventually lost money as Hart-Davis refused to cater to the public taste and he was forced to relinquish control of the company. Hart-Davis went on to author the biography Hugh Walpole and edited the "Collected Letters of Oscar Wilde" as well as the "Lyttelton/Hart Davis Letters".

Earth First! is a group of radical environmentalists that formed in the American Southwest in the spring of 1980, founded by Dave Foreman, Mike Roselle, Howie Wolke, Bart Koehler, and Ron Kezar, among others. Earth First! quickly came to national attention with their "cracking" of Glen Canyon Dam activist stunt, which was performed and filmed in the spring of 1981. Edward Abbey is considered to be the "literary father" of the group. "Earth First! is the beginning of the new, bold environmental movement. And 'Earth First! The Radical Environmental Journal' is its voice. No compromise in the defense of Mother Earth!" (Dave Foreman, Editor). Rear cover half-page illustration by Brush Wolf, dated '83, is entitled "It's Not Just Defense, It's Revenge" and depicts a grizzly bear with one of its paws stuck in a metal trap.
