Fine hardcover with a severe bump to one tip which has also slightly affected half the pages in a Near Fine dust jacket with a touch of shelf wear, creasing at the bump and sunning to two edges. The book is essentially new and unread with the noted deficiencies. All dust jackets are protected by a clear mylar cover. BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, IN A BOX. A gorgeous volume that presents a collection of paintings made in Colombia by Joseph Brown, a British mining executive, between 1825 and 1841. Brown traveled the young country extensively and recorded images of the people and their clothing, the landscape and the means of transportation in the region. He also kept a journal detailing social customs and attitudes and in this book is reproduced his observations from an excursion to Giron in 1834. A lovely production. 229 pages with 8 gatefolds; color reproductions throughout; 9.75 x 12.25 inches. Text in Spanish and English.
