And, can be an effective teacher or a potent reminder of the fragility of life, and the importance of living it Sunlight, the joys and joyful times in our life do not look the same for everyone, do not always feel the same for everyone, and they are distinct in form and expression even within our own lives. The effect of a pair of hummingbirds hovering inches away from my face today would draw a different, deeper reaction that if that some thing happened when I was sixteen. Each one of my six gifted, beautiful children brings joy, and the occasional stress, in their own way to me - and for that especially, I will always be grateful. Just as no life is the same as any other, no poetic voice can truly be said to duplicate another. And, sometimes, even a poetic voice can have different shades. While I have been flattered by people with comparisons to other poets, my heartfelt objective, is that if even one reader walks away from having read these poems or observations, even one of them, with a lighter heart and a better perspective, I've accomplished something.
