Original dark brown full leather binding; some scuffing to boards with bumping to fore-edge corners, front board's bottom corner worn with nicks at others; spine with four slightly raised bands delineated by slightly flaked gilt bars; shallow chipping at spine ends; spine's brown title label with gilt lettering "Derham's | Physico | Theology' but with loss to "ha" in first line; gilt stamped "J" [for 1] in spine's center compartment; scuffing along joints with 3.75cm split descending from head of front joint. Light staining to top edge; front and rear endpapers toned at margins; handwritten notations in antiquarian ink on front pastedown along with small bookplate for one H.M. Machen [?] with Roman numeral date 1858; two-line ink inscription "Geo. Wyrhale | 1750" at front free endpaper's top right. Interior text pages clean. Binding is firm. With unpaged b/w frontispiece illustration. A good+ antiquarian copy of a popular text by British clergyman and natural philosopher William Derham which was first published in 1713.

Interior with some faint stains but in all still a good copy. With the printed bookplate of ''D. Beaussier'' tipped in on the first paste down. First edition of the French translation.
