Two vintage publicity photographs from the 1955 film, showing actors Donald O'Connor and Martha Hyer with Francis. Printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. The sixth film in the Francis the Talking Mule series. In this installment, Francis' owner is mistakenly shipped off to the Navy. From the archive of noted Hollywood still p…hotographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. 8 x 10 inches. Final Draft script for the 1954 film. The fifth of seven films in the popular "Francis the Talking Mules series, all made in the 1950s. Copy belonging to technical advisor Major Lane Carlson, with his name in manuscript blue ink on a label affixed on the front wrapper, and his annotations throughout. Carlson acted as a consultan…t on the military aspects of the film, as the film involves Francis joining the Army, going to the Pentagon, etc. Salmon titled wrappers, noted as Final Screenplay on the front wrapper, dated February 9, 1954. 157 leaves, Multilith duplication, with blue, pink, and yellow revision pages throughout, dated variously between 2-17-54 and 4-5-54. Pages and wrapper Very Good plus, in a three ring binder used during production.
