An historical novel set around the time of the Spanish Armada, with the protagonist acting as an unwilling courier between England and Spain. Oh, and our hero gets to sail with a young Francis Drake. Author Donald Barr Chidsey wrote historical fiction and nonfiction. Chidsey's own background included such diverse occupations as newspaperman, actor, farmer, boxer, and ambulance driver with both the British and the U.S. armies, the Free French in Tunisia and the 51st Highland Division. But always a writer. Note: there is no rear gutter code. BNDING/CONDITION: light gray boards; a Very Good book, the jacket is darkened at the spine, otherwise a Good+ dust jacket; the color on the front panel is especially good. 8vo (about 8.5 inches tall). 252 pages.
