The front free endpaper has an insert stuck in it: 'In grateful appreciation of eight years service as Commissioner of the Cardigan District 1936-1944'. Brown stain up the hinge on title page and on a few other pages where the stitching is exposed. Foxing on last few pages. Text is clean, with just the odd mark here and there. Binding is good. One leaf of text - pages 7/8 - with closed tear of length 6.5cm from fore-edge, over which on page 7 a selotape strip of width 1cm; the usual selotape discolouration on page 7 affecting margin and final two words of one line of text, effects overleaf almost negligible. Edges of text-block a little toned, top edge also a little dust-marked. Generally clean and tight. GOOD copy.

There is only the front half and flap of the jacket remaining. The back isn't with the book. Noted as poor due to this. The overall condition is very good.
