Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Fair+. No Jacket. Eight Impression. This is a book on the teaching of arithmetic for teachers who are not necessary mathematicians. The understanding of number depends most of all upon the understanding of the meaning of spoken and written words. This book places particular emphasis upon these needs and discusses ways by which such understanding may be gained. Another prerequisite of success is that new ideas and processes should be dealt with one at a time. This means that the work must be arranged, by the teacher, in carefully graded steps. Suggestions for such grading are given in detail throughout the book. In this book the authors employ the British systems - as examples, neither because these are widely understood nor on grounds of nationality, but because they are probably the most difficult in common use. Thus it is comparatively easy for any teacher to apply the principles and recommended teaching methods to any simpler system of units. Previous owners name and address inside cover. Some underlining and notes in pen on a few of the pages.(We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.).
