"The facsimile . of the Sonoma County Journal Extra of June 22nd, 1861, was reproduced by lithograph from the original in the Petaluma Public Library, by courtesy of the library trustees. The illustration of the "Pony Express Saluting the Telegraph" is a copper half-tone made from a print in the Wells Fargo Bank History Room. The Journal Extras were discovered in the newspaper files at the Petaluma Library by Ed and Chris Mannion, who also did some of the original research. The text was set in 12 point Cheltenham on the Linotype at the Petaluma Argus-Courier. 250 copies were printed by the Petaluma Printing Company on Woodbine Enamel. The wrappers are Artemis Text and Artemis Cover. This keepsake is presented by Duncan H.
