The author, the sister of writer Mary Roberts Rineheart, however, appears to have been well known in her day. This was one of her early works; after its publication, she was offered the job of writing a syndicated children's department for a large group of Newspapers, and I also found references to her columns and Articles with advice on child Rearing. .They visit the lands of Lost Balloons, Runaway Feathers, Soap Bubbles and good smells. The book is funny in places - the cat, given speech on the trips, grumbles about being forced to visit soap bubble land. It also has seriOus real life touches - there are references to World War I, with food shortages and the children's father at a military camp in the west. The other edgesof the dj have occasional small 1/4" tears that are closed. where there arepieces missing the white backing of the glassine cover shows through and does create a contrast to the dj color. . The hinge split is at title page but is still tight and not unsightly. The contents of the book are also tight and clean. The glassine cover is not taped down and is put on by us for protection and is removable.
