Pprinted front wrapper+79 pp.+unf.chart, rear issue wrapper missing; bound in red cloth with dark stippled cloth spine region, 3 additional endpapers front & back, heraldic crest label (Mark Dineley) to front pastedown; label faintly offset to facing endpaper, front bound-in wrapper darkened, rubbed and slightly chipped to outer edge and slightly less so to top and bottom, faint pencil note to top above the French gift inscription to a Monsieur Carle (?), last part of this illegible or beyond my ability to translate, bottom corners pp.5/6, 7/8 creased, some ink smudges to the pp.6-7 opening, marginal lines+a marginalium to opening pp.40/41, final unfolding table of arms manufacture at Saint-Etienne since 1819 in good condition, outer edge of final leaf browned and s little chipped, since edges are uncut there is fairly frequent dustiness to outer slivers of fore-edges. Covers unworn and generally clean but a few minor spots. This is a report on the 1862 Great Exhibition in London, by delegates/ authors as named, of the Saint Etienne Chamber of Commerce, where the 'Manufacture Imperielle' was based. I have identified one 2014 reprint of an 1877 84 pp. edition ascribed to a Eugene Ory as author, but this name does not appear here (unsurprisingly since his birth-date is given as 1845), nor is there mention of the unfolding chart.
