His Ukrainian plants were exporting to Bulgaria, Turkey and Rumania. When financier Robert Rothschild refused to sign over his French holdings to Alfred, Rothchild was shipped to Auschwitz concentration camp and gassed. Together with his exploitation of slave labor, put Alfried Krupp in the prisoners' dock at the Nürnberg war-crimes trials after the war. He was sentenced to twelve years in prison and confiscation of all his assets.
