The front cover is badly chipped with a one inch square piece missing from the right edge and five chips of varying sizes out of the top edge. Heavy surface chipping to the spine with a tear down most of the length of the rear cover which also has several small chips out of the edges. Pages browned and otherwise largely unmarked. Cover by Earle Bergey and interior illustrations by Orban, Poulton, Finlay, Schomburg and Dreany.
