Président du Congrès de la Chanson en 1900. Léon Cladel écrivit de ses beaux vers : "qu'un sourire de Désaugiers s'y mariaient avec une larme de Pierre Dupont." E. Président de la goguette de la Lice chansonnière, membre de la société du Caveau et de la goguette du Pot-au-Feu, il était issu d'un milieu modeste et il fonda en 1900 "L'oeuvre de la chanson française" dont le but était d'apprendre les classiques aux ouvriers. Eugène Vaillant, l'auteur du recueil, est cité dans le Maitron. Etat très satisfaisant (couv. lég. frottée avec rouss., anc. traces d'adhésif en garde, bon état par ailleurs) pour cet ouvrage rare et important. Langue: Français.

Il lui signale qu'un journaliste du soir (Framment ?) ne l'oublie pas, que Georges Montorgueil lui a dit que les journaux sont pleins par les querelles politiques et que l'article sur Desrousseaux ne paraitra pas tout de suite, etc. La lettre concerne donc longuement la publication d'articles de et sur Desrousseaux.
