Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. Tan vellum covers with raised bands and gold lettering on spine. The lettering is cracked and faded. Covers exhibit heavy wear, bumping and soiling on edges and corners. Heavy wear with light chipping on spine ends. Upper spine end is taped because of tears on the hinges. Heavy chipping, soiling and wear on spine and hinges. Heavy shelf wear and soiling to covers. Marbled page ends are faded and with yellowing. Inside front & back cover hinges are cracked with tape on the front cover hinge. They are still attached. Previous owners name, address and date of death on the ffep. Yellowing and foxing to inside front and back covers, ffep's, bfep's and text. Text has very light marking in pencil with only marked pages found. For its age the text is still in good condition. Frontispiece of Shakespeare has moderate foxing. includes "a history of the stage, a life of the poet, and an introduction to each play: the text of the plays corrected by the manuscript emendations contained in the recently discovered folio of 1632. To which are added glossarial and explanatory notes, and notes to the emendations, containing the readings of former editions by John L. Jewett." All books are individually examined and described.
